Storekeeping refers to the safe custody of all the items of material stocked in the store-room for which the storekeeper acts as a trustee. But in the modern socio-technical milieu, this arrangement may not work. The very nature of the storage system, to act as a buffer between procurement and various other consuming departments, stresses the need for a perfect action plan to gear up for the timely multifarious activities like receipts, storage, upkeep, handling, accounting, issues and disposal. This training programme is aimed at giving insight into the store’s professionals on these counts.
